develogment leads the way into the digital future
Kempen Kompakt Issue September 2018
The Kempen-based logistics consulting and software company develogment is preparing businesses for the future. Thanks to holistic consulting and digital solutions, customers can work more effectively, avoid mistakes, and more easily identify potential improvements.
develogment supports businesses as they embark on their journey to the digital age. Both executive directors, Sven Vogel and Jens Kokon, as well as their co-workers, have many years of experience in IT and Logistics. “True to our motto ‘Optimized logistics’ we provide project support, advice and service provision with an emphasis on logistics, supply chain management and processes. In addition to this we offer our own products for the optimization and automatization of business processes, as well as a digital document management system,” says Sven Vogel.
Our customers range from logistics specialists for small companies to medium-sized production companies right up to international corporations. They benefit from the expertise of the Kempen-based company and from the strategic partnerships with leading technology companies. The three divisions cover the whole spectrum, from consulting to implementation right through to service products.
In the spring of 2017, the company was launched in the Lower Rhine Technology and Startup Centre and has been growing ever since. According to both executive directors: “When we launched over a year ago our team was made up of 5 people – now the number has increased to 15 and we are continually expanding. We are constantly on the lookout for further motivated people with the right qualifications to reinforce our teams in Kempen and Obernburg am Main.”
Analysis and Consulting – we always prioritise specific customer benefit
Nowadays many markets find themselves in a transitional phase and new business models are emerging. At the same time we are witnessing new breakthrough technology and countless trends. Many companies find themselves overwhelmed by this challenge and here is where develogment can help: develogment provides orientation and solutions for the digital transformation. According to Sven Vogel: “We take companies and their employees in hand, point out exactly what needs to be done and help to raise their potential accordingly. During a consultation we always act holistically and pragmatically. We also employ the established approaches of best practice.” The main goal of the service area of Managed Analytics is to filter out the relevant information from the flood of data. “In doing so, our customers can derive concrete, strategic measures for their companies or even for the direct decisions of day-to-day trading,” adds Svenja Wefers, Head of Managed Analytics at develogment.
crosslinxx – Business Process Automation Software
Using its own software, crosslinxx, develogment offers a solution that controls business processes across systems and departments. “It all starts with an analysis of the processes,” explains Jens Kokon.
In many companies, business processes have grown gradually. Different departments or business partners work together, and often do so with systems that are not well aligned. This inhibits processes, wastes valuable resources, and leaves businesses prone to mistakes. Here crosslinxx can help.
crosslinxx is a solution that brings together existing systems in a meaningful way. It also allows bridges to be built easily to external partners and suppliers.
Using crosslinxx, a graphic model of the business processes can be easily produced. This facilitates quick success and operational flexibility. The structure of your own company becomes more transparent and potential improvements are easier to identify.
A lot of this can be automated, whether they be complex logistic processes to optimize the entire supply chain or even administrative processes, such as the payment of invoices, order processing, and holiday permits. In this way, crosslinxx takes over a large part of the coordinative and communicative tasks.
Artificial intelligence helps to further automate processes, as, for instance, in the returns process: based on a photo of the return, the system can independently recognize whether the return can be stored directly or handed over to quality control or the workshop, by matching with sample images.
Many customers are excited about this. As stated by Arnd Zappe, managing director of the logistics company ALS RZ based in Duisburg: “crosslinxx helps us to digitize manual work processes that already exist, for example in ship building. This allows us to work much more efficiently and, for the most part, paper-free. Nothing gets lost anymore. In a very short time, crosslinxx has made communication between all parties involved faster, more organized, and more transparent.”
crossdoxx – digital document management
According to Jens Kokon: “Our product crossdoxx manages documents and information in a professional, secure and up-to-date manner. crossdoxx is effectively a digital filing cabinet.” With crossdoxx, businesses have the option to decide whether they might also want to make individual documents or sections available to external partners or authorities.
In addition to this, documents, images, and impressions can be shared across the entire business, within teams, or between individual co-workers.
Users have secure access to their files at any time, anywhere, on the move or offline. The data is encrypted and stored in a certified data centre in Germany.
crossdoxx works intuitively. Automatic full text recognition makes it easy to find any document. Files can also be tagged with their own keywords. Scanned invoices, for example, thus move into the correct folder using the keywords in an automatic and audit-proof manner.
By using crossdoxx, everyday work is made easier and companies can concentrate on their core business.
